The trophies

Why enter? We’ll never win!

If this thought runs through your mind when you think of entering the Taunton Deane Business
Awards – squash it now!

Every business has its own set of strengths to celebrate and, funnily enough, many businesses have told us that they never realised just how many they had until they sat down and listed them, whilst writing their award application.
We all get so bogged down with the day to day running of the business; fretting about work, too little, too much. We rarely sit down and take an outside-in look at our companies. We asked Paul Smith from Word Gets Around, a previous entrant, what he got out of the process:

“Going through the process of entering the awards help you realise what you have achieved, helps you focus on your vision for the future. Anyone who enters awards like this will find they really focus on their core strengths and values, areas you can improve. You get the opportunity to take a helicopter view. I really enjoyed the process and got a lot out of it.”

This year we have 10 categories, and you can enter up to two, which doubles your chances! We have companies from every business type entering, from large manufacturers to one man bands, start-ups to businesses that have been established in Taunton Deane for over a hundred years, all celebrating their business success.

Our gives a good indication of what the judges are looking for from each application. Answering the questions clearly and sending supporting data goes a very long way to ensuring that you paint the best picture you can of your business.

You can never be 100% sure you won’t be shortlisted!

30 businesses will be excited to hear they are finalists on the 30th April and you could be one of them.

Are you ready to put your business forward, do some reflective thinking and begin to really see just how successful you have been?

Our applicants tell us that even if they don’t win, the process has helped their business to the next level. In our eyes every applicant is a winner, celebrating their success and showing real confidence in their business. As we say every year – you got to be in it to win it!
